Royal Ontario Museum (Toronto)
July 23, 2004
Today, we went to the Royal Ontario Museum (link, map). Before we could go, we had to make a little side trip down to the pool in the condo. As any five-year-old will tell you, the pool at your hotel is one of the most important parts of any vacation. Emelia needed to check out the pool and burn off some energy.
To get to the museum, we decided we'd just walk from our condo. It wasn't that far and the weather was really nice, not to mention we got to go past the Ontario Parliament Building (link, location) on the way. We got a little bit lost and none of the people that we bumped into on the University of Toronto campus has a clue what museum we were talking about. We got a little scared that it wasn't much of a museum if no one had ever heard of it.
The museum itself was really nice. Emelia is really into dinosaurs, so she enjoyed looking at all the bones. They also had tons of stuffed animals that Emelia and Chloe really got into. Nobody really enjoyed the fancy stuff (like pots from the European Renaissance), but you can't expect the kids to care and it's hard for the adults to when they're being yanked around by those kids.
They had a great area for kids with a red fox hole that the kids could crawl through and lots of other animal costumes. They also had some crafts. The kids always like that stuff.
